A new novel by Patrick Gabridge,

Tornado Siren is the story of two outsiders drawn together by the simple beauty and deadly destruction lurking on the Great Plains.
Tornado researcher Victoria Thomas discovers an impossible set of footprints in a muddy field near Memphis. They indicate that a man walked away unharmed after being engulfed by the full fury of a twister. A year later, Victoria finds an identical set of mysterious tracks in Kansas and becomes obsessed with finding this odd wanderer. His existence challenges her very conception of reality and stimulates something deep within her imagination.
When she finally does find Ben Fulgar, Victoria can't believe her own eyes or his improbable story. She'll risk her life to prove to herself that the world operates according to rational rules. During their adventures on the prairie, their relationship intensifies into a love that will be challenged by the ultimate forces of nature.

Tornado Siren is now available as an ebook for Kindle, Nook, and other formats (via Smashwords).

I'm doing a mini blog tour for Tornado Siren, September 28-30. Come check out my visits on these blogs:

  • Wednesday, September 28:  Diana Renn's blog (which features a great post on group blogging today)  (check out her spiffy new web site)

  • Thursday, September 29:  Lori Foster's On writing, living and loving.  She writes so beautifully about motherhood, but she writes about the author's life, too.

  • Friday, September 30:  Donna Hoke's My life as a wordsmith.  I love that she writes plays, books, and crossword puzzles.

Be sure to check out my blog: The Writing Life x3 Blog. It's all about trying to write for the page, stage, and screen (while trying to live life, too).

Tornado Siren got a very nice mention (and some enthusiastic reader responses) from the USA Today Weather Guys.
